Competition! Geigerrig RIG 700 Ballistic hydration pack and system

Geigerrig Hydration System with in-line filter
One of Geigerrig’s hydration systems in action at one of my camps recently – with the in-line filter (purchased separately)

I recently contributed a review of the Geigerrig Hydration System with a focus on cleaning for the Hydration Summit hosted by TrailSherpa based in the US. You can read my thoughts (and other bloggers too) on the kit HERE.

Anyway, I’ve got a RIG 700 Ballistic up for grabs which has an RRP of around £100.

All brand new and un-used ready to be sent to one lucky winner. It comes with a lot of great features, ideal for trail runners or cyclists – including an insulated tube. Of course, if you’re just into backpacking there’s nothing to stop you removing the hydration bladder and tubing to use in another rucksack. And  there’s nothing to prevent you using a separate in-line filter too!

The latter works a treat but you do have to be mindful of the fact that rushing water through a filter to get rid of harmful bugs and other nasties from your untreated water is not a particularly good idea. Don’t force the water through too fast. You want the filter to do it’s job and it can take time.

But with the right amount of pressure via the Geigerrig pump system, you’ll soon be able to gauge a suitable flow rate. Quite handy it has to be said.

So, to the competition!

OPEN TO UK RESIDENTS ONLY.

All entries to be submitted by email (just hit the ‘kontactr me’ button to the upper right area of this blog).
One entry per person.
Out of the correct answers submitted, one winner will be chosen at random and notified by myself after which the prize will be sent via Royal Mail or business post (you will have to be around to sign for it’s arrival)
